I adored this little book so much and I'm so glad I picked it up! I was browsing the travel section of Waterstones in Victoria, and I saw this peeking out of the Italy shelf. Admittedly, I was sold just from the cover alone, but after reading the blurb I knew it was right up my street.

The book is written in diary entries, translated from the original Italian. It follows the day to day life of Alba Donati, who opened a small bookshop in the village of Lucignana in Tuscany. Despite the pandemic, a fire, and the town itself only being home to a small community, this bookshop and its magic survived everything and had so many stories to share.

This book is so heart-warming and inspiring, and it is the perfect gift for someone who loves everything bookish!

Alba's stories are funny and heartfelt, so each one is just as enjoyable to read as the next. We are also introduced to a range of different residents and their personalities within Lucignana, which just transports you straight there.

It is also an ode to the publishing world and some of Alba's favourite authors, and that really shines through in the book!

A 5 star read for me and I will be recommending this to everyone.
