London has so many wonderful bookshops all over the city. From little stalls in markets, to the bigger flagships, there is somewhere for every reader and I'm going to share my favourite 5 spots to browse and buy!

  1. Daunt Books on Marylebone High Street

No surprise to anyone as a book and travel lover, but I love Daunt Books so much. Located in Marylebone High Street, Daunt has a wide selection of books from all over the world, and it is organised by country and region. You can find travel guides, classics, and modern fiction all inspired by or set in different places. There are of course other areas in the shop for general fiction, children's fiction and new releases, but the combination is what draws me in every time!

2. Word on the Water in King's Cross

This is such a hidden gem and one of the most unique spots to buy books in London. Behind King's Cross station, on the waterfront, is an old barge boat which has been converted into a floating bookshop. With modern fiction and classics lining the walls of the boat, this is such a fun place to browse. In the winter, you can sit on the cosy benches inside the boat, and in the summer, they have musicians performing live music on top of the boat. There is such a great atmosphere here and it just makes me want to go back again and again.

3. John Sandoe on King's Road

In the heart of Chelsea is John Sandoe books, an independent bookshop with the best range of genres! This bookshop is beautiful both outside and inside, and it is on two floors. The staff are so helpful, and it is always a great place to browse on the weekends. I love the architecture of the building too, so in the summer sunshine it really comes to life and is a great place to pick up a book for a picnic by the Saatchi gallery.

4. The Bookshop in Liberty

My favourite department store in London is Liberty without a doubt, and the bookshop inside the store is one of the cutest places to shop for books! Not only are the books in here so beautiful, but they are also the perfect gifts for family and friends. There are so many various editions of classics in here and I love seeing how each one is designed so differently. It also has plenty of stationery to choose from in this section, which is just an added bonus to the shopping experience!

5. Hatchard's in Piccadilly

One of London's most popular book shops and for good reason. I love browsing in Hatchard's because you really feel like you've stepped back in time with the gorgeous interiors of the shop. Something I love about Hatchard's is that they have so many incredible events on throughout the year and opportunities to meet with authors. I went to my first author signing here and absolutely loved the experience, so it will always be a favourite of mine!
