I was so excited to spend two weeks in Singapore this summer, and it quickly became one of my favourite places. The beautiful scenery, vibrant culture, bustling districts, and extraordinary architecture, make it a truly one of a kind place, and I'm so grateful to have spent some time in the city.

We were staying just a few minutes walk away from Orchard Road, one of the main shopping and dining streets in the city. It was a fabulous location, and meant we were right on top of everything, including the metro stations, for the duration of our stay. We visited Orchard Road many times, and explored ION, the various department stores, and ate great food at some of the restaurants and cafes along the road.

The biggest benefit was having the metro station so close, as Singapore is a hugely accessible city with a great metro network. You can get pretty much anywhere using the train system, and it's easy to understand.

Our first few days were a little drizzly, so we spent a lot of time exploring the downtown area, and of course Marina Bay Sands. This hotel is extraordinary, overlooking the water and cityscape. At the top of the hotel observation deck, preferably on a clear day, the panoramic views of the city are breathtaking, and you get a glimpse at the Gardens by the Bay just next door. It's a must do when visiting Singapore, not only to see the MBS hotel architecture itself, but reach the top and see the city in the best way possible.

Gardens by the Bay, an incredible park close to the Marina Bay Sands hotel, boasts the innovative and stunning supertrees, OCBC Skywalk to capture views of the park, Flower Dome showcasing beautiful assortments of botanical creations and plants, and Cloud Forest with the world's largest indoor waterfall. This collection of natural exhibits combines the beauty of Southeast Asia's flora with the technological resources and creativity that Singapore is known globally for.

Sentosa Island is another must see when visiting Singapore. It is home to thrilling activities, Universal Studios Singapore, beaches, and even the southernmost point of Continental Asia (a hidden and underrated gem!) Universal Studios Singapore is an exciting theme park with many of the iconic rides from Universal Studios parks around the world, including the iconic 'The Mummy' ride. It has restaurants, gift shops, and rides that range from family friendly fun to top thrill seekers. Look out for familiar faces around the park, such as Shrek, and enjoy plenty of shows and live entertainment throughout the day.

The buzzing district of Chinatown is an amazing spot for food and markets, and home to one of my favourite places we visited, the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple, where you can see the sacred Tooth Relic encased in a room of gold, observe prayer services, and learn about the history of the Buddhist religion and its roots. Little India is a great stop to add to your itinerary too, offering a vibrant area of markets, food stalls, restaurants, and stunning temples along every street.

One of my favourite places we visited in Singapore was the Night Safari, River Wonders and Singapore Zoo. This collection of wildlife reserves is not only home to a variety of amazing animals and their conservation teams, but also a more hands-on experience. At the Night Safari, you can wonder the same pathways as wallabies, and see them jump across right in front of you. At River Wonders, you can get up close to monkeys as they climb along the trees beside you, and even have the opportunity to feed breakfast to capybaras during the informative showcases. It is a must do if you are visiting Singapore, and is like no other zoological experience.

There is so much culture and history to learn in Singapore, so many sites to see, so many areas to explore, and something for everyone. I highly recommend adding Singapore to the top of your bucket list.
