Prague is one of those cities that looks like it is straight out of a fairy tale. With gothic architecture and colourful cobbled streets, this European gem is a city full of life and culture.
There is so much to see in Prague from the astronomical clock to the Castle, and everything in between. Each place is bursting with history and has so much to learn. I loved exploring the medieval and gothic buildings around the Old Town, and finding out about the Czech history of each location.
We started our visit by heading to Prague Castle, an area which is home to not only the iconic building itself, but also a small street which is reminiscent of what Prague looked like decades ago. With small shops and bakeries, Franz Kafka's house and so much more, this is such a great way to see Prague of the past and present. Pop into Kafka's house for a wide selection of Kafka's books, as well as other Czech favourites and even cookbooks. This little strip is definitely a unique place to see when visiting Prague, so I highly recommend adding it to your list.
One of my highlights from the weekend was taking a boat down the Vltava River, to take in the sights of the Charles Bridge and everything around it. This was a great way to see the city from a different perspective, especially in the evening as the sun was setting. The boat has a menu full of snacks and drinks, so you can sit back and relax, while watching the city move around you. We ended the day in a jazz bar, listening to amazing live music and it had such a great atmosphere.
I feel like there is always something new to see and experience in Prague, and it is somewhere that you can keep going back to again and again to find more gems.
