It's no secret that I'm obsessed with Gilmore Girls and the Stars Hollow aesthetic. There is so much to love about the cosy nature of the show and the bookishness of the iconic characters. I've compiled a list of some of my favourite reads which remind of that comforting and autumnal vibe which we get from watching Gilmore Girls episodes. I hope you enjoy and find some new favourite reads!
Fiction
🌙 ‘The Holiday Swap’ by Zara Stoneley
(like the movie!! City vibes VS countryside)
🌙 ‘Practice Makes Perfect’ by Sarah Adams
(small town, bad boy/good girl)
🌙 ‘A Castle in the Clouds’ by Kerstin Gier
(Swiss Alps, hotel mystery)
🌙 ‘The Cat Who Saved Books’ by Sosuke Natsukawa
(library vibe, magic of reading, family)
Non-Fiction
🌙 ‘Talking As Fast As I Can’ by Lauren Graham
(ofc it’s on the list!! Fun stories from filming and Lauren’s life growing up)
🌙 ‘Have I Told You This Already’ by Lauren Graham
(more stories from Lauren’s background and experiences as an actress!)
🌙 'What I Talk About When I Talk About Running' by Haruki Murakami
(New England setting, being in nature, life as a writer)
Classics
🌙 'Anne of Green Gables' by L. M. Montgomery
(feels like an early version of GG to me! Small town, town gossip, family)
🌙 'A Little Princess' by Francis Hodgson Burnett
(family, autumnal/winter vibe, comforting)
🌙 'Little Women' by Louisa May Alcott
(family, mother and daughters, small town, New England setting)
------------
These are some of my favourite books and I can’t recommend them enough. They feel like Stars Hollow and a warm cup of coffee at Luke’s! 🧣
